Rickets: causes, symptomsAnd the remedy
Hello friends I hope you are all well so today I am bringing rickets because of the symptoms
Fatty foods such as: Cod Liver Oil; Eggs, liver, oily fish, etc. are rich in Vitamin-D. Vitamin-D is also found in milk, butter, eggs and liver. There are 7 dehy-drocholesterols in human skin on which the ultraviolet rays of sunlight produce vitamin-D. As a result, people who regularly walk in the sun are deficient in vitamin-D in their diet, but due to the production of vitamin-D in the skin of the body, its deficiency is not observed.
There are different types of vitamins. Such as- Vitamin-A, Vitamin-B, Vitamin-C, Vitamin-D etc. Each vitamin has a different role in our body. When the body is deficient in vitamin-D, calcium does not come from the intestines. Calcium phosphate cannot accumulate in the bones. As a result, the bones become soft.
This problem is called rickets in children. Rickets are seen in children from six months to two years of age. The same disease in adults is called osteomalacia. However, the incidence of osteomalacia is not seen.

Symptoms of rickets
The child is restless, moody, pale, with weak muscles, sweating.
The baby is more prone to respiratory infections and has more discomfort in the stomach and intestines.
Teeth grow late or never because mineral salts (calcium and phosphorus) are not deposited in the bone.
The intellect slows down, sitting, standing, walking, etc. of normal age is delayed.
Bone changes are particularly noticeable:
The bones are not formed properly and are thin.
The baby is emaciated and has a skeletal appearance.
Initially, craniotabes are applied to the bones of the head in people under one year of age.
The edges of the wrist bones grow and the joints of the thoracic bones and cartilage become swollen (Rickety rosary).
There is pain in the bones. A lot of the time the bones are dull.
Children's forehead and chest bones are seen high. The chest bone looks slender, soft and high, so it looks a lot like a pigeon's chest. It is called Pigeon chest.
The knees rub against each other and the legs are bent (Knocknees and bow legs).
The cause of rickets
Suffering from chronic malnutrition causes a deficiency of vitamin-D, calcium or phosphorus in the body.
Insufficient sunlight.
Inadequate vitamin-D rich foods.
Calcium and phosphorus are two mineral salts deficient.
Lack of fat in the body - because vitamin-D is dissolved in fat. Vitamin-D cannot be adequately absorbed due to lack of lubricants and is of no use to the body.
Rickets can occur if you have liver and kidney disease.
Vitamin D deficiency can also be caused by anti-convulsant drugs.
Who is more likely to be rickets
Rickets are very rare in developed countries. The risk of getting rickets for different reasons is not the same for everyone. E.g.-
Age
Children between the ages of 6 and 36 months are more likely to have rickets. During this time the children grow up fast. The body needs the most calcium and phosphate at this time to make the bones strong and grow.
Eating habits
If you eat vegetarian food without fish, eggs or milk, you are at higher risk of rickets. Or if you have trouble digesting milk or are allergic to milk-sugar (lactose), you may have rickets. Babies who are exclusively breastfed may be deficient in vitamin-D. Breast milk contains enough vitamin D to prevent rickets.
Skin color
Children of descent from Africa, the Pacific Islands and the Middle East are most at risk for rickets. Because their skin is black. Black skin does not react as well as fair skin to sunlight. So black skin produces less vitamin-D than fair skin. This problem increases especially in winter days. [References]
Geographical location
Our bodies make more vitamin-D when they are in the sun. So if you live in an area where there is very little sunlight, especially in temperate countries, you are living in a risky area for rickets. If you work indoors during the day where sunlight does not reach you, you are also at risk of rickets.
Hereditary causes
Hereditary causes can also be a disorder. If you have hereditary rickets, your kidneys will not absorb enough phosphate.
Various diseases
If there are various diseases such as digestive problems, liver problems, kidney problems, etc., the body does not accumulate the necessary vitamin-D, calcium and phosphorus, resulting in rickets.
Complications of rickets
Occasionally the baby may die from excessive fatigue and stomach upset.
The body does not grow properly and is weak and weak in nature.
