Liver Tumors and Cancer

Liver Tumors and Cancer: A Silent Killer

Hello friends,

I hope you are all well, so today I am bringing you a tumor and cancer of the liver.
Liver Tumors and Cancer: A Silent Killer
The word tumor is a deadly disease that causes fear among the common people. But in medical terms, there are two types of tumors. Such as benign and malignant. Before you get acquainted (gain, obtain) with the term benign and malignant, you need to know what a tumor is.

What is a tumor: The cell is the structural unit of our body. Our brain, heart, lungs, esophagus, liver, etc. are made up of a combination of specialized cells. Under normal circumstances, cells in different parts of our body are constantly dividing and replacing old cells with new ones. However, in this process the complete structure of an organ remains unchanged. This is because the space and time of cell division are controlled by internal processes. This control can be disrupted due to various external and internal reasons.Such as radiation, smoking, viral infections and mutations. When the process of cell division loses control through such various means, the rate of cell proliferation increases and the immature cells begin to occupy the place of the well-organized cells of the corresponding organ. The pile of immature cells that is formed in this process cannot be called a well-organized organ and it does not perform any specific function. This is called tumor in medical terms.

Types of Tumors: From the beginning we learned that there can be two types of tumors. Benign tumors and malignant tumors. A benign tumor is a type of immature cell that usually does no harm to the body and is confined to the area where it originates. This means that benign tumors do not spread to the place of origin or other parts of the body through rapid proliferation. Malignant tumors are tumors that reproduce rapidly, spread locally or to other parts of the body, and consume excess amounts of essential nutrients from the blood. As a result, other parts of the body become deficient in essential nutrients and lose weight. Inflammation can also lead to liver cancer. However, in areas where the hepatitis B virus is a major cause of liver cancer, children and adolescents are also more likely to develop liver cancer.

Bile duct cancer is called cholangial carcinoma. It usually occurs in the sixth to seventeenth decades of age. This cholangiocarcinoma is responsible for 3% of esophageal cancer. When cancer spreads from the esophagus or other organs, it often spreads to the liver. This condition is called metastasis in the liver. Symptoms: Patients with benign tumors of the liver may be asymptomatic, depending on the type of tumor, or may appear to the physician with a lump or wheel in the right upper abdomen. For example, a cavernous hemangioma usually has no symptoms, but if the same person has multiple tumors of the liver or a large tumor, the patient may bring a wheel to the upper right side of the abdomen. It can also cause heart failure in some cases. On the other hand, the most common symptoms of any malignant tumor are weight loss, weakness, loss of appetite and fever or chills. In the early stages of liver cancer, there may be no symptoms other than the above, or in addition to the above symptoms, there may be severe abdominal pain, jaundice, abdominal water, vomiting, and black stools. Significant liver cancer is usually caused by liver cirrhosis with loss of control over liver cell division. This is why liver cancer patients usually seek medical attention for symptoms of liver cirrhosis. The liver of patients with liver cancer becomes larger and stiffer. Severe pain is felt in the right upper abdomen. When cancer arises from another place, it is felt in the liver as multiple ‘wheels’ or ‘lumps’ in the liver and usually the liver becomes enlarged.

Diagnosis:
The initial test to diagnose a liver tumor is an abdominal ultrasonogram. Benign tumors of the liver are often diagnosed for ultrasonography for other complications. Many times the tumor is not detected on ultrasonogram. In this case, the tumor is found by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) or computed tomography. Levels of a biological marker called alphaphytoprotein are also found in the blood when liver cancer is suspected. In the case of liver cancer, the amount is much higher. If any tumor is found in the above imaging procedure, the next step is to collect the tissue from the tumor in the fine needle aspiration cytology or biopsy procedure and examine it under a microscope to understand the type and nature of the tumor. In medical science terminology it is called histopathology examination. Specific treatment can be started if the nature of the tumor can be determined

precisely. Diagnosis:
